The 3 Keys To Good Health

"But the real secret to lifelong good health is actually the opposite: Let your body take care of you."

The 3 Keys To Good Health

There are 3 important keys to good health.

First, you need nourishment. I am sure this seems obvious. Nourishment is not just about eating food. It is also about making sure that we get the right food for our body type and where possible eat according to the seasons and time of day. In addition, paying attention to nourishment means making sure that your digestive system is functioning well. When the digestive system is sluggish or blocked in some way, food is not digested fully and becomes a kind of toxic sludge in our body. When that happens we are on the road to creating disease in ourselves.

It is important to understand that Ayurveda recommends food that is easily digestible for each person because that is one way to ensure that you are not building up toxins in your system unnecessarily just because of your food choices.

Second, you need to remove toxins from the body. If you are eating food that is easy to digest then you are automatically minimizing the accumulation of toxins in your body. However, toxins come from a variety of sources including stress, and pollution of various kinds. So you need to have a strategy to manage this toxic buildup. When toxins build up they impact the lymph system of the body, which when inflamed and blocked will prevent toxins from leaving the body and nourishment from reaching the cells. Keeping the lymph system clear is important for creating good health, not only physical health but also mental and emotional health which are impacted by the condition of the lymph system.

Third, you need a daily schedule that provides the nourishment you need and releases accumulated toxins. Ayurveda recommends a daily schedule that will help you accomplish the goals of getting the nourishment you need and releasing toxins that may have accumulated. It uses the times of day to ensure that you eat when your digestion is strongest and has numerous health practices to help you support your lymph system so you are not bogged down by accumulated toxins from stress or other sources.

These are the three components of a health plan that helps your body take care of you. If you consider your choices through the lens of these three factors, you will automatically make good choices and relieve your body of unnecessary stress.
